Course Description:
Welcome to MATH 8A! This course will provide you with basic real-world mathematical concepts and prepare you for Algebra I. Each lesson contains examples that you will commonly use in your scholastic and everyday lives. Math is exciting because it’s all around us and sometimes we’re not even aware of it. Did you realize that math is used for making clothes, building bridges, constructing homes, flying planes, making medicine, and cooking food?

About Me:
I have a variety of experience and expertise in behavior management and mathematics. Prior to teaching, I had a long career managing employees in the private sector. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Master's degree in Leadership, and am currently pursuing a post-graduate certification (Educational Diagnostician). I hold teaching certifications in the following areas: Core Subjects EC-6, Core Subjects 4 - 8, Special Education EC-12.
I understand the importance of cultivating relationships, both in and outside the classroom. Working in collaboration with the student and parents, I am confident that together, we can prepare students to face the challenges that await them in adulthood. I am excited to overcome the challenges that this school year presents.
