I spent a large part of my childhood selling extra vegetables
So large it was like sound, hitting high in the decibels
I used my family’s farm to make horseradish
Younger me would have never thought that this
Would turn into something great, something big
I am now glad that my family didn’t raise pigs
A few years later, I bought half of my father’s brick company
In 1875, it worth no more than a penny
Decided to start back up, with help from Fredrick and John
It was better than earning money by mowing neighbor’s lawns
I saw potential in some red sauce
I made it so well that I became the boss
Heinz Ketchup was so popular that I was on top
Leading everyone else, I wish not to stop
I said, “57 Varieties”, even though I had more
But it was lucky, so it sold out in stores
Pickles made my name rise in popularity
My company had great prosperity
Food was unregulated before 1906
But after the year, the problem was fixed
I supported the act when no one else did
We were the only ones who didn’t act like kids
2 years later, Heinz was the biggest tomato manufacturer in the world
My company danced, pranced, and twirled
To this day, long after I’ve passed
I’m still astonished at the popularity Heinz has amassed
I don't know how for anyone who asks
But I know I can rest at last
