Proof that Mr. Sutton is Human (About Me)

The easiest way to contact me about school business, whether you are a parent or a student, is through e-mail.  If you have questions, concerns, or high praise about what a great teacher I am, my email address is: bsutton@galenaparkisd.com.

ABOUT MY CLASSES:

Since becoming a teacher, I have taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade math, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Pre Calculus, and College Prep Math.

This year I am teaching Financial Math, we will look into many real world places where math is used.  From writing checks to tracking investments, to finding the true cost of borrowing money and paying back loans and credit cards.  Whether you feel like you're a top-notch math student, an average math student, or a struggling math student, you are in good hands in my class.  We'll sharpen the math skills you already have, and "fill in the gaps" of what you missed or forgot along the way, so that you leave North Shore Senior High with the math skills that future employers, colleges, or even the Armed Forces are looking for in a high school graduate!

Hey look, I have a family!  We smile in front of cameras because we are normal humans like you!  This picture is from a few years ago.  The baby starts fourth grade this year.  The older two are in high school, one Sophomore, one Junior.  My wife is in grad school (getting her PhD in History, I'm proud of her!) and I'm a teacher.  In the morning, everyone in my house gets ready for school, including the adults!

My family has too many cats.

This is not a picture of my cats.  This is a picture I found on Google Images by searching for "Way too many cats".   I looked for pictures of my cats, but my cats do not like posing for good pictures.  Especially not all together.

We have four cats.  I love them, but it's too many.  I have to carefully step over cats when I walk in my house.  Sometimes I have to step over the same cat more than once.  They are mysterious creatures like that.

I told my wife when we had three cats, that three was the limit, we would not get any more cats, because four would be too many for our house, so no more than THREE cats.  My wife is an amazing woman, I love her very much, she is quite persuasive, and she loves cats even more than I do.  So now we have FOUR cats, one over the limit.

Now that we have four cats, she agrees that four is too many.  But we aren't getting rid of any, because we both believe that when you take in an animal, you take care of it.

At least I don't have to argue that five cats is too many. She already knows.

When I have free time, I love to play games.  Board games, computer games, RPGs, video games.  Anything where I can flex some strategic thinking works for me.
