Class Introduction
Business Information Management also known as BIM is a course designed to help students use their personal and interpersonal skills to strengthen individual performance in the workplace and in society. Using these skills, students will ultimately make a successful transition to the workforce and postsecondary education. Students apply technical skills to address business applications of emerging technologies, create word-processing documents, develop spreadsheets, formulate databases and make electronic presentations using appropriate software.
Classroom Expectations
High expectations will be maintained for all students to maximize their academic potential. It is the expectation of Ms. Gonzalez, your teacher, that each student will commit to the "business of learning".
Students will be expected to attend class and be on time for class, be an active and involved student of learning during class, and strive continuously to reach the ultimate goal.

As a student in this course, you will learn the most important aspects of Microsoft Word. You will start off creating and editing documents in Word as well as formatting text and paragraphs. You'll learn about formatting tables and how to illustrate documents with graphics. You'll work with themes, styles, templates and develop multi-page documents. You'll be able to receive a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in Word.
As a student in this course, you will learn the most important aspects of Microsoft Excel. You will get an introduction to Excel and learn about formulas, functions, formatting, and charts. The lessons get more advanced, covering worksheet tasks. You'll be able to receive a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in Excel.
As a student in this course, you will learn the most important aspects of Microsoft PowerPoint. You will start off learning about PowerPoint basics, how to create and enhance PowerPoint presentations and work with visual elements. You'll learn how to edit slide content, work with tables and charts, work with themes and animations also you'll learn how to work with sound objects. You'll be able to receive a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in PowerPoint.
