Throughout this school year, I've been faced with many things, but most importantly I struggled in ELAR. During the start of the school year, my grade in reading was not always the best. For the first time my grade was below an A, and I began to start trying harder and studying like I never had. It was a difficult time because my grade was an A-, and because of this I started to get discouraged. However, towards the end of the school year I started to try harder and harder until I was finally satisfied with my grade. I now have a perfect score in ELAR, despite it being my toughest class. This has taught me to always persevere even through the hard times because as long as you try, you'll end up getting what you've desired.
My greatest academic achievement has been having a 98 and above in all my classes. I have always tried to be the best in everything I do, so this has been my greatest achievement this year. It shows that all my efforts paid off because of the grades I have now. I studies long nights and redid assignments that were bringing me down. I tried to do everything to raise my grades, and it eventually worked out because of the outcome. Sometimes my grade continues to go down, but I always end up raising it in the end.
My personal values this year have been to be humble and respectful. My goals to be humble have worked out for the most part, but sometimes I get too confident, but I always learn to be humble in the end. It is always best to be humble because one big achievement doesn't define who you are because something bad could happen close in the future. I yearn to be respectful towards all people because I believe everyone deserves respect no matter what they have done. Although sometimes I slip up and become too overconfident and disrespectful, in the end I become better and excel through all my personal values.
One way I gave back to my school community is by participating in UIL for choir and spelling. For choir UIL we placed first out of all the schools that competed and won all the top ranking awards. The school made us work hard to win all the awards , and we gave back to them by coming back with the best awards we could. For spelling I won first in the competition out of everyone else that participated. I gave back to my school because when I won the competition WAMS was recognized because of my victory.
My friendships and relationships this year have been most important to me because of the impact they've had on me. My friendship with my best friends has really kept me going even through my hard times. My best friend, Yatziry, has been there for me through my academic struggles and even trusted me when no one else did. My friends have held me up when I felt like falling, and they are part of the reason why I am where I am. Yatziry is kind, sweet, honest, trusting, loving, and overall an amazing person to be around. I value my friends because they make me feel confident and safe like no one else.
A time I have failed this past school year was when I ended the first semester with a B. I hold high expectations for myself, and I was very disappointed when I had a B at the end of the semester. After this experience, I was determined to get an A+ or higher, and it eventually worked out because the next term I manages to have an A. I obviously wanted a higher grade, but I was still proud to have gotten an A that semester. Though for this semester, my grade in that same class is a 100. The only reason I achieved this is because I chose to not give up. I chose to stay for tutorials and redo all the assignments because I knew I could improve. Sometimes failure pushes you to become better.
My inspiration this year has been my sister. My sister is the smartest person I know and I admire her because of all that she has achieved. She graduated valedictorian of her senior class, and I hope to be like her in that way. She goes to the University of Notre Dame because it is an amazing university that offers many opportunities for insanely talented students like her. I look up to her because of the many things she has accomplished, and I hope to accomplish as much, and possibly more, as she has. My sister is also one of the reasons I try to be the best in everything I do. She never gives up and never takes no for answer, and I aspire to be like her in every good way.
The most memorable moment I have had this past school year has been when I went to region choir. Region choir is an amazing achievement, and is something you have to work very hard to accomplish. At region choir you get to have special moments with your friends and have time to improve on your flaws. Region choir is a moment you can reflect on and see how hard you worked because you were one of the best out of the whole region. Some memories come and go, but region choir is one I will never forget.
An area I could improve in is my grades. Even though my grades are all A+s' , I strive for all of them to be 100s. My goal is to be the best in everything I do, and there is no reason why I should not be able to achieve that. Another area I could improve is being more patient with others. When others ask me for help I sometimes get frustrated, but that should be an easy fix. I could stop myself before getting easily frustrated and choose to be more patient. I should be able to help others without being easily frustrated, and that is something I am working on this upcoming year. All my goals for the upcoming year and possible to ahieve as long as I keep going and never give up.
My goal for next year is also to be the best in everything I do. I could achieve this by studying so that I would no longer be confused on any subjects. I could redo all the assignments I have a low grade on so that my grade would not be affected. Next year I am determined to stay on task without getting easily distracted by others. Focusing on my grades for next year is my top priority and is what I will try and spend my free time on. I have many desires for the upcoming school year, and this is possible as long I don't give up even when things become difficult.
