6th Grade ELAR


Welcome 6th graders! I am ecstatic to be your teacher this year and look forward to exploring literature with you. This year we will sharpen our reading comprehension skills and analyze many literary texts. The class focuses on the following areas; Literature; Composition; Grammar, Usage and Mechanics; and Vocabulary.


Read books. Develop intellectual curiosity. It will be a great year!



About me

Hello! My name is Alia Self. I am originally from Indonesia. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

I met my husband in Colorado, and we have 2 wonderful children. When I'm not teaching, I love to read, travel, eat out and explore new places.

I can't wait for our year together!
