The EQAO Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics is administered each semester; once in the winter and once in the spring.
Key dates are below for the 2024/2025 school year.
Winter 2025:
Administration: Wednesday, January 8, 2025 to Friday, January 31, 2025
Spring 2025:
Administration: Wednesday, May 28, 2025 to Wednesday, June 25, 2025
Framework
The assessment will assess students in the following strands:
Number, Algebra, Data, Geometry & Measurement, and Financial Literacy.
The Social-Emotional Learning strand will not be measured
The Mathematical Thinking & Making Connections strand will not be measured but students will need to apply mathematical processes during theassessment
the assessment is composed of two sessions: session A and Session B.
Each session is allotted 60 minutes.
Students may take a break between sessions.
If additional time is required for a session, extra time with supervision is allowed.
There are 27 questions for each of session A and session B; totaling 54 questions.

Preparing for EQAO - Content Resources
To help prepare students to write the EQAO assessment, the resources above have been compiled and are available for implementation into the classroom in a variety of ways.
Suggested uses of these resources include:
small group problem solving (i.e. students working at vertical non-permanent spaces)
individual completion
beginning of class (entry card)
early/mid/end cycle or unit check-ins
math conversations or to teach about problem solving
