Welcome back to school!
The first went by so fast! The students have settled in nicely to our classroom routines. This is going to be a great year with such an amazing group of students. Each time the website is updated, I will put a quick note in the student planners. I will attempt to keep you updated on what is going on within our room.
In literacy this week, we are completing small writing items, and increasing our reading stamina. Students are expected to be reading at home each night for 15 mins or more. If you have not already done so, please begin to establish a reading routine at home. (For example, "As soon as I come home and empty my backpack, I sit at the table to read." "Each night before bed, I find a comfy spot and read."). We will begin going to the school library on days 3 and 8. If you are in need of reading material for your child, the London Public Library has two locations close to Jack Chambers. They have an excellent selection of books for children, but also they have a great system of checking out books to read online. In a few weeks, I will also show students how they can borrow an online book from Jack Chambers using the SORA website link. I will share that once we begin using it.
