A MESSAGE FROM MR. MILLIGAN

Princess Elizabeth Families,

How are you doing? We know this can be a very difficult time for many of our families. The CoVid 19 pandemic has caused a lot of stress in so many homes. Families may be being impacted by illness, lack of income, food security, uncertainty about the future, and anxious children. I can tell you that the staff at Princess Elizabeth have been thinking a lot about our families in the last month. They would like you to know that they miss their students and that they care a great deal about how everyone is doing. If you need help or support at any time, please reach our to your child’s teacher or myself.

Thank you so much to parents and students in our community that have been helping others. We know that families have been checking in on others, parents have been helping other parents with learning activities from the teacher, and sometimes you are just giving others a listening ear. As I say at the school, the small things can make a big difference. Thank you for all that you are doing to help us get through this time.

The Thames Valley District School board has some excellent family resources located on their website at https://www.tvdsb.ca/en/students/mental-health-and-well-being.aspx?_mid_=384.

You can find contact information about Kids Help Phone and Reach Out (Mental Health and Addictions Crisis support). Under the Families section there is information about how to support your child’s mental health during the pandemic. There is an excellent Questions and Answers section here as well.

We appreciate the patience of all of our families who requested a device from the school. To date we have distributed close to 200 devices for Princess Elizabeth students!

I have had requests from some parents to send an electronic copy of our Panther Paws. Here it is: [/tvdsb/emailattachment.php?id=11034&caid=20499&name=Home Panther Paw.pdf]Home Panther Paw . Please use these as you would like. When we return to school you can send them in and we’ll include them in our draws.

I would like to be able to share and celebrate any successes our students may be having with their learning or home life. If you have anything you would like share and celebrate, please send me an email at c.milligan@tvdsb.ca and I will include them in future Principal Updates.

Have a great week.

Colin Milligan
