I graduated from the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western Univesity in 2005, and continued to earn my teaching degree at Western in 2006. I grew up in Scarborough where I was an active participant in many ensembles in the city of Toronto. My high school experience at Wexford School for the Arts confirmed my love of music and the process of working with others in exciting musical experiences.
I love my job as a Music Teacher! I get to teach the most fun subject all day long, at an amazing school, filled with kids eager to learn. W.Sherwood Fox is a great place to be, full of musical staff and families in the community that support our school music program. I love that I have been at Fox long enough that I have seen many students grow and mature through the years. This is the start of my 12th year at Fox, and my 17th year of teaching.
I have been married for 13 years and have three kids. My kids definitely keep me busy when I'm not at school, and I love every minute we get to spend together. Currently my kids love Lego, so we spend a lot of time building and playing with Lego (and me making sure I don't step on it!). We also love to swim in our pool, ride bikes and go for walks together.
When I'm not planning and prepping for school or being a mom I like to spend time relaxing and often doing other musical things in my spare time. I always love a moment that I can get to play the piano and sing something for fun. It is my "go to" at the end of a stressful day, my favourite to play is the music by the Piano Guys. I also work at a dance studio as a Musical Director for The Little Theatre Company, I love being a part of theatre and meeting new people in our community.
