Is a school-wide challenge that will involve students from across the school working in teams to come up with solutions to questions that they propose based on 4 specific topics. The aims of the challenge are to explore the impact of technology on the world, promote the use of digital technology, and develop the;

6C's of learning

Critical thinking

Collaboration

Communication

Creativity

Citizenship/Culture

Character education.

Students, working individually or as teams, will formulate an inquiry question to research and draw conclusions from, based on one of the following 4 broad topics;

Social Justice

Environmental Stewardship

Global Citizenship

Artificial Intelligence

For example, you could consider how community involvement will impact lives and employment, how technology can be used as a networking tool for social justice or to make the world a fair and equitable place for all people, or how technology can be used to address the human impact on our environment...

SICK STEPS 2 AWESOME

The basic steps for the School-Wide/Student Inquiry Challenge Kickoff are as follows:

Students will propose a question, research the question with the help of a teacher mentor, and then showcase the results of their inquiry research using their choice of digital technology.
Students will present their finished projects at a SICK open-house event, school community event and/or on the School website linking approved content/teacher controlled edits/ which you have created.
Awarding of prizes may be the incentive for school-wide participation in our SICK challenge, so you might consider thinking what would be that awesome prize criteria for this SICK Social Justice, Environmental Stewardship, Global Citizenship, or Artificial Intelligence Lollapalooza
