Art, Code, and Design is a two part, dual-credit course combining AWT 3MR, Non-Traditional Visual Arts, and ICS 3UR or ICS 3CR, Introduction to Computer Science or Introduction to Computer Programming.
This course introduces students to computer programming concepts and practices. Students will write and test computer programs, using various problem-solving strategies. They will learn the fundamentals of program design and apply a software development life-cycle model to a software development project. Students will also learn about computer environments and systems and explore environmental issues related to computers, safe computing practices, emerging technologies and post-secondary opportunities in computer-related fields. This is Part one of two project focussed courses which students must take together; students use computer science and programming fundamentals to design and create an interactive piece of artwork. This course provides students with opportunities to further develop their skills and knowledge in visual arts. Students will explore a range of subject matter through student activities, and will consolidate their practical skills.
