Don't skip by this stunning introduction to the Herb Kebbel wetland!
The Herb Kebbel Marsh is on the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority property called the Yarmouth Natural Heritage Area. It flows slowly into Catfish Creek, also on the site, which empties into Lake Erie at Port Bruce. Nearby agricultural land and the upstream town of Aylmer may impact water quality.
The 208 acre property was purchased back in 1999 and since then the conservation authority has restored this former gravel pit to a natural gem adding native tallgrass prairie and planting thousands of Carolinian tree species along the creek and around the marsh.
