London Central Honour Roll (80%+) and Award of Excellence (90%+) are based on:
Grade 9 or 10:
the best 8 credits taken from September 1 to August 31 (including the summer before beginning grade 9)
Grade 11:
the best 7 credits in Grade 11, taken between September 1 and August 31
Grade 12:
The best 6 credits taken between September 1 and August 31
Honour Roll (aka Academic Excellence)
The criteria for eligibility for Honour Roll, 80% or higher final average in a specified minimum number of full credits in a given academic year, are set by the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB). To qualify for Honour Roll, students must be enrolled in a full-time program and can take courses from one or a combination of the following, between September 1 and August 31:
1. TVDSB secondary school (i.e. London Central Secondary School) courses, between September and the end of June
2. Summer school, July and August, at a publicly funded school
3. eLearning through the TVDSB or through another publicly funded school board in Ontario
4. Online through the Thames Valley District Virtual Academy (TVDVA)
5. Night school through a publicly funded school
6. Dual Credit courses
The minimum number of full credits that must be earned, by grade, is as follows:
Grade 9: best 8 full credits
Grade 10: best 8 full credits
Grade 11: best 7 full credits
Grade 12: best 6 full credits
Students meeting the above criteria with a 90%+ average qualify for The Award of Excellence.
