Grade 10 Spanish
This is an introductory course that focuses on the basic sounds and structures of Spanish, and on countries where Spanish is spoken.
By the end of the course, students are able to:
-introduce and describe themselves and talk about their family
-talk about their usual daily activities
-understand elements of culture in countries where Spanish is spoken
Grade 11 Spanish
In this course, students continue to develop their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. By the end of the course they are able to:
-describe and give opinions about clothing
-communicate with store employees while making purchases
-explain an illness or injury
-extend, accept and decline invitations
-order food and communicate in a restaurant
-express actions in the past
-gain a deeper understanding of the culture of Spanish-speaking places
Grade 12 Spanish
In this course, students continue to develop their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. By the end of the course they are able to:
-describe where they live and other cities
-understand and give directions
-narrate past events & plan future events
-interact spontaneously in familiar contexts about a variety of topics
-better understand the general history, politics, geography and culture of Spanish-speaking places
