In 2002 I graduated from UWO with an Honours Zoology degree. After graduating from Althouse the following year, I was successful in obtaining a teaching job with TVDSB at Balaclava St. P.S. in St. Thomas, ON, where I taught grade 7/8 until the school closed in 2011. I, along with the other staff and students, moved to June Rose Callwood P.S., where I continued to teach 7/8. Three years ago I moved into the junior division, and taught grade 4/5 and grade 5. Now, in my 15th year of teaching, I am a teacher to a wonderful group of grade 6 students at JRC. I am passionate about inquiry and Ed Tech, and how I can help to amplify my students' voices through choice.
It is very important to me that I create 21st Century learners. I embed the 'Global Competencies' daily into my instruction. Through meaningful, real-life tasks my students continue develop their Problem Solving, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking skills.
