Huron Park is offering four courses in First Nations Metis Inuit Studies for the 2023/2024 school year.
We will be offering:
NAC1O (Grade 9, Expressions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Cultures), an arts-based course
NAC2O (Grade 10, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit in Canada)
NDA3M (Grade 11, Contemporary First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Issues and Perspectives, Grade 11)
NDW 4M (Grade 12, Contemporary Indigenous Issues and Perspectives in a Global Context, Grade 12).
The classes are largely student-centered, so students get regular opportunities to decide where and how to focus their learning. We also have Indigenous guest visitors and artists to teach us some cultural elements of the wide array of Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island.
