Protecting the lifeline of infrastructure during severe storms
Climate change has begun - and will continue - to have a tremendous impact on global weather. Severe storms have recently wrecked havoc on the infrastructure of many communities, and the negative impacts on roadways has been devastating.
In 2017, almost a trillion dollars was spent in Canada alone just on infrastructure; that is 8.7% of all our national wealth. Our group thinks that most of that money could go to stopping the problem where it started. If we prevent roadways from being damaged, the cost to repairing infrastructure will be lessened.
Communities rely on roadways to transport goods, move people, and access support in emergency situations. In order to help protect roads from the damaging effects of more frequent storms, we have created a number of proposals. Please see the image below for links to our projects.
