In my spare time I love to read, travel, eat, and yoga, in no particular order. Un bon vivant ... absolument!
I lived in Prague for 4 years, Krakòw for 3, and 1 year in St. Petersburg, Russia.
I grew up in Wawa, Ontario.

Rima Chahbar
I teach French Immersion Language, Civics, Careers and Social Science.
I have a Master of Arts, French Language and Literature.
My hobbies include travelling and spending time with loved ones.
A surprising fact about me is that I survived two wars!

Agnieszka Chuchrowska
I teach all grades of French Immersion.
MA in French literature from Western University inspires my interest in how literature and art have explained and impacted "la condition humain".
My passions include nature, hiking, gardening and photography. I also love history, reading, and organizing.
I grew up in the south of Poland in a family of 10 children in a small village near Krakow. Shortly after high school, I moved to Belgium where I lived for 8 years. I am the first of my family to obtain a university degree.
I have lived in other countries such as France, Germany, and Japan.
Of the hundred famous (highest) mountains in Japan, I have already climbed the top ten. My longest expedition lasted eight days as my husband and I crossed the entire Japanese southern Alps.
What I love about Banting is its diversity in student population. This is how I imagined Canada to be.

I have a Honours Double Major in French Language and Literature and Global Development Studies from Huron University and a Bachelor of Education from Western University;
In my free time, I like to read, do yoga and crafts, spend time with family, friends and my dog, Barkley and travel;

I teach FI Civics, Careers, and Ancient Civilizations, I also teach Deconstructing Anti-Black Racism and Indigenous Studies.
I have a B.A. Hons from Huron at Western, a B.Ed from Althouse and a M.A. in Education from the University of Warwick, UK. I went on exchanges to Quebec City, Trois-Pistoles, Bordeaux and the Loire Valley.
My hobbies are reading, hiking and skiing.
One thing you don't know about me is that for nearly 15 years I lived in Ireland, Scotland and England and as part of my job I toured & studied schools across Britain, France, the Netherlands and Virginia, USA.
What I love about Banting is the school spirit, I was a student here and am still impressed with how much the student body celebrates our school.

Katie Hyland
I teach French Immersion Math grade 9-12.
I have a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education.
I am a former Banting FI student.
In my free time, I knit, read and spend time with friends and family.

Christina Lui
I teach French Immersion Science, Grades 9 and 10 and Grade 11 French Immersion Biology.
I went to Western University for both a Bachelor's and Masters in Zoology. I researched the metabolism of insects (cockroaches, to be specific) and continue to have a fascination of all living things.
My hobbies are running, reading, and raising my young family to be bilingual in English and French. At Banting I help students to run the Environmental Club who have successfully made sure that we are an Eco-Certified School through EcoSchools Canada since 2016.
I have run 11 marathons in 3 continents. A life goal is to run marathons on all continents of the world.
Banting has been my work home since 2013. I knew from the first day that I started teaching grade 9 FI science here that I had found a welcoming home. I feel a sense of pride in seeing our Banting students walk across the stage at commencement; seeing how much they have grown and accomplished during their time with us. They are the ones who truly make our community welcoming and incredible.
Melissa MacIntyre
I teach grades 10-12 Histoire courses and the two Science Sociales courses offered in French Immersion.
I studied in a French Teaching Specialization Co-Op program at University of Waterloo. I lived 3 months in Québec on a French exchange and also studied in Nantes, France for my 3rd year of university. I also spend most of my winter holidays au Québec to hit the slopes en français.
I am most interested in travel and sports. I have travelled to over 30 countries and love the adventure of living in foreign places. I am an avid tennis player, snowboarder, hiker, golfer, yoga enthusiast and gym rat. I like to be in motion!
A surprising fact about me is that I cycled 7300kms (mostly solo) across Canada while raising $26,000 for cancer research. It was a great way to see our beautiful country.
There are so many things I love about Banting but it is our sense of community and acceptance that makes me a proud Bronco.
Mallory Marcoccia
I currently teach French and Health and Physical Education, Grades 9 to 12.
I graduated from a French Immersion Secondary School in London before studying French Literature and Kinesiology at Western University.
In my spare time, I love to stay active by playing sports, coaching, and training!
A fun fact about me is that I love to travel and have been to over 30 countries.

Julie Montes
I teach Grade 9 and 10 Sciences along with Grade 11 Biologie
I have a degree in Physiology and Medical Sciences along with a major en français.
I lived, worked, and travelled in Nice, France for a year after I finished my studies
I spent the last three years as a Learning Technologies Coordinator for the school board.
Fun fact! I am off for the 2020-21 school year with a brand new bébé.
Banting's students are important to me so while working at the board office, I returned to coach senior girls' basketball and track & field.

Robin Pereira
I am a grade 9-12 French Immersion Math and SST teacher.
I have an Honors Degree in French Language and Literature from Brescia University, and spent a summer learning at the Université de Montréal.
I love spending time outdoors being active or relaxing at the beach. A beach sunset is my favorite!

Laura Swearingen
I have been teaching French Immersion Math since 2008.
I was a French Immersion student in London and studied Math and French in University.
I enjoy reading, crafting, cooking, being in nature and, of course, teaching math!
After having taught in other French Immersion programs in Thames Valley, I knew I was a Bronco at heart and returned in 2013, to stay.
I love being a Bronco as I am proud to work in a school that values differences, inclusion and a strong sense of community.
Kristin Villemaire
I teach French Immersion Language and Geography
I went to a French first language elementary and secondary school and continued my education in French Studies at the University of Windsor. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a French teacher as I love the language and the culture.
My hobbies include travelling, skiing, baking, playing and coaching sports such as soccer and volleyball.
One thing you may not know about me is that I challenged myself to read 50 books this year!

Ashley Vitali
I teach French Immersion grade 9 and 10 science.
I went to Banting as a high school student in the French Immersion program, and Ottawa University for Biology.
I have 4 children and enjoy spending most of my time outside of school with them. We often swim, bike and take nature walks with our dog.
Banting is a great school because both staff and students are friendly, helpful, accepting, and welcoming.
