OrbitNote - Making PDFs Accessible

OrbitNote allows students to interact with PDF files. Users can access speech to text, text to speech, highlighting and drawing tools, and more.

Many of the OrbitNote tools are the same as tools you may know from Read&Write. All of these and more are demonstrated in the videos below.

Text to speech tools used to listen to text on the page, either in a pre-created text, or as playback to review student writing.

Allows any text on the screen to be selected and read aloud.

Add text to your PDF - includes speech to text and word prediction tools.

Dictionary gives definitions and picture dictionary shows a picture or symbol to explain the word.

Build a list of highlighted words, definitions and picture definitions in a Google Doc.

Highlight words or phrases and then collect them into a Google Doc.

Blocks distractions while you read by highlighting a small band of text.

Translates single words into another language.

A few simple steps will change an "unreadable" file into one that can used in OrbitNote.
