We hope that this website will give you some information about our music program here at Governor Mifflin Intermediate School.
This website will not be used for direct communications but more as a "clearing house of information" about GMIS Music. We will be using DOJO for our primary communication to both students and families.

All ensemble rehearsals for current music students will begin on the second cycle starting on 2nd Cycle in August of 2024.
Lesson/technique classes will be relatively small, about 10 students or less. It is where we learn how to play our instrument.
We maybe offering some enrichment opportunities outside the school day. Most likely, before school starting hours.
Ensembles will meet once a 6 day cycle, for 40 minutes during STANG time. (Not during other specials times.)
We (GMIS) do have a few instruments available for use from the school, especially the large, non-typical and harmony instruments like: bass, cello, bass clarinet, tuba, tenor sax.
Having difficulty finding your "spirit instrument?"
Music Discovery Nights are Wednesday, Sept 4 & Thursday, September 5 (2024).
6:30P - 8P @ the GMIS Music Suite

Hello Mifflin Musicians! This year I will be teaching band, orchestra, and 6th grade music classes. I have been teaching music at Governor Mifflin School District since 1999. (Yes, the 20th century)
I am married to the famous art teacher in Mifflin Park Elementary. I have a young son, Josiah, who is entering 6th grade this year at Wilson SD. I love playing tuba, camping, fly fishing, hiking and trail running. I am looking forward to making music with YOU!!
Hi everyone! This year I will be teaching GMIS Choruses, 5th grade music classes and sharing the instrumental lessons with Mr. Holgate. This is my first year teaching, as I recently graduated from Kutztown University, and can't wait to start making music at GMIS!
Outside of school and music, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, painting, hammocking, and spending time with my friends and family (pets included, of course). I'm so excited for the school year, and can't wait to hear all the amazing music we can create together!
