Civil Rights Teams

Together, we celebrate and honor diversity

A civil rights team helps schools think and talk about issues related to race and skin color, national origin and ancestry, religion, disabilities, gender (including gender identity and expression), and diverse families through education and awareness efforts.

Our students, parents and staff want our schools to be a place where everyone feels safe, welcome, and respected for who they are. Please explore our forum and always feel free to ask questions and share your thoughts!

The Maine Attorney General administers the Civil Rights Team Project, a school-based preventative program. The mission of the Civil Rights Team Project (CRTP) is to increase the safety of elementary, middle level, and high school students by reducing bias-motivated behaviors and harassment in our schools.
