Social Skills- These may include things like  active listening, self advocacy, empathy or building confidence, self regulation, saying hello and goodbye, and talking it out. This week we are thinking about Greetings; in person and electronically.  There are also some examples on our Skills for Life (See rubric) as well as others. What are some social skills that help us make our way in the world? 

Study Skills-What things do we already do and how can we improve Lots of great resources: Check out this one! I know it's from a college and we're only in 8th grade, but let's discuss it! This week we're focusing on study guides-completing and reviewing them.  Previously we thought about organization, note taking, self-assessing and setting attainable goals, home study environment, sharing our work/ study partners

Social Studies Skills- SS Standards We are currently focusing on Geography and map skills as well as 3a. Describe factors in economic development in states, regions, and the United States after 1800, 5b. Explain major turning points in the history of the United States after 1800 and 5c. Explain different perspectives of historical events in the United States after 1800. Previously we focused on standards around the impact of geography of our lives. Our last project focused on standard 1b Analyze how people influence communities and work for the common good, citing textual evidence from primary and secondary sources to support analysis and argument
