Reading books are assigned on Sunshine Classics. Your child can work through the assigned books throughout the week and complete the follow up activities.
Pre-reading for your child - look through the book and discuss what it might be about, what could be happening in the book from looking at pictures. Are there any words that are familiar, any that are new? Can you relate the story to a prior experience? Have a conversation about that.
Extra reading: Your child can read or listen to books on EPIC using our class code.
Mathematical tasks will be available on Maths Buddy according to the different maths groups from the classroom. Your child can complete the tasks that are assigned to them on Maths Buddy. Listed below are some other Mathematics websites that your child can use to practise their basic facts and other mathematics learning.
Prodigy- This is a Mathematics game website and app. Your child has had an account set up. They can use their Google Account to log into this. They can use the class code to join Prodigy. This can be found on your child's log in sheet.

Take a look at the Seesaw message that are sent daily and on Google Classroom for the instructions for the class writing tasks. Read through any instructions and discuss what your child could write. Help them do a plan (a brainstorm or use the writing template given). Then they can write independently.
Room 9 has learnt to read their writing to check that it makes sense. Your child should be able identify where they need to use capital letters and full stops. Your child could identify any misspelt words and underline them. If you have a dictionary at home, support your child to find the correct spelling of some of their words (focus on words that your child is likely to use often in their writing). They could also read through their writing to see if they could add any more detail.
