Gordon College (GC), formerly Olongapo City Colleges, was established in 1999 by the City Government of Olongapo. Evolving from the Olongapo City Training Center, which trained skilled manpower for employment at the former U.S. Naval facility, GC was created in response to the community's shift towards professional courses. With the closure of the naval facility and the reduced demand for skilled workers, there was a need for accessible tertiary education for the urban poor sector.
GC operates under City Ordinance No. 36, Series of 2004, and its amendment, City Ordinance No. 7, Series of 2018, known as the "Revised Charter of Gordon College of 2018." This revision aims to establish Gordon College as an independent, robust, and quality-driven higher education institution.
The Local Government of Olongapo is dedicated to ensuring that higher education is accessible and equitable for all its constituents. We strive to provide a responsive and relevant educational experience that meets the needs of our community.
