WIN supports statewide career-ready initiatives through its Ready to Work and Soft Skills portable credentials and courseware.

Applied Digital Skills is a free curriculum where students use G Suite for Education to practice life and job skills by building creative projects. Each lesson is taught through self-paced, step-by-step videos that reduce the pressure on teachers to be technology experts. The curriculum is flexible, and teachers can pick whichever lessons they want to teach. Teachers have the flexibility to set up and assign courses to students. Includes a basic internet and computer skills guide.

Developed by Accenture, the Skills to Succeed Academy offers 36 bite size, interactive modules to pick and choose from, preparing job seekers for the entire journey of choosing the right career, finding a job and succeeding in the work place. Innovative simulations provide a safe environment where Learners can practice for real life situations, such as a job interview, instantly seeing the consequences of their decisions.

Free Resources to Teach Individuals Digital Skills

From Microsoft Office and email to reading, math, and more, GCFLearnFree.org offers more than 180 topics, including more than 2,000 lessons, 800+ videos, and 55+ interactives and games, completely free. Available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The curriculum staff has also created teacher guides to assist teachers in using GCFLearnFree.org content with the people they serve.

This guide contains instructional materials designed to help learners build basic computer skills and literacy. Each course is split into micro-learning modules and includes basic computer, web, Windows, e-mail, Microsoft productivity tools, and social media. Text copies of the courses are available. Can be used in conjunction with the Northstar Digital Literacy Assessments.

This toolkit is a self-contained package providing the information, guidance, and materials needed for an institution, organization, community group, or individual to deliver trainings in digital literacy in their communities. Includes courses in computer basics, internet usage, and online security & safety. Prebuilt materials such as presentations, handouts, and quizzes are available for you to download.

Digital Literacy Standard Curriculum Version 4 teaches generic information communication technology (ICT) skills and concepts. Courses include computer basics, the internet, productivity programs, computer security and privacy, and digital lifestyles. Includes assessments and a digital literacy certificate test. The Digital Literacy Curriculum can be adapted for classroom use or for self-paced study. Instructor resources are available.

Techboomers has over 100 free courses with thousands of step-by-step tutorials and informational articles that can help you learn anything and everything about the Internet's most popular websites and apps. Includes courses on technology basics such as an introduction to the internet as well as internet safety and privacy.

The Learn to Earn Toolkit is a free online resource created to guide adult learners in building employability skills. Courses can be conducted in a classroom environment or self-guided. The Toolkit addresses 10 in-demand employability skills (critical thinking, diversity, English language, information technology, oral communication, professionalism, reading comprehension, social responsibility, teamwork, and written communication).

Consider them your personal game plan for exploring new skills. Multiple trails are available based on experience level.

This course provides students with an introduction to the core technologies used to communicate information on the Web: Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The primary learning materials for this course are readings, lectures, video tutorials, and other resources. Self-paced - approx. 30 hours. All course materials are free to access, and can be found through the links provided in each unit and subunit of the course.
