Dual-Enrollment (previously known at Concurrent Enrollment) at Hartnell
THE STEPS FOR THIS ARE STUDENT LED!
(AKA Concurrent Enrollment)
Updated 2024-2025 Dual Enrollment Process/Forms
The previous requirement that students must complete a new admissions application (via CCCApply) every semester that they want to take a Hartnell class has been changed. Now students only are required to submit an application the first time they enroll at Hartnell, or if they have not enrolled in the last two main terms (meaning fall and spring, summer doesn't count), or when they are graduating from high school and will be enrolling as regular college students. Students who took a class last semester do not need to do a new application.
The attached Dual Enrollment packet has been updated. This packet will be used for both Dual Enrollment classes during the regular school day at the schools, but also for classes that the students take online, after school, or during the summer (aka Concurrent Enrollment).
Starting with this Fall, the parent signature page (page 2) will only have to be submitted the first time a student participates in Dual or Concurrent enrollment. Once a student submits that page, it will last for the entire time a student is in high school, until they either graduate or the parent withdraws their onset in writing. Every student will need to submit the parent permission for Fall 2024, but going forward only new students will need to submit it.
The first page, where the high school principal/counselor gives permission to the student to enroll, must still be submitted every semester before a student can register for classes.
Allows high school students to take college credit courses after school, most often at a local community college.
