Dear Parents & Students,

Welcome to 11th grade environmental science! I am so excited to be starting this new school year with you all. I know that the 2020-2021 school year will be a journey -- full of new experiences, excitement, discoveries, and possibly some unexpected turns. There will be new paths to navigate but I promise to be right here next to you along the way! Luckily, most of you already know me from 9th grade or around campus, and I am so happy to have some familiar faces on Zoom on Monday!! I know you are too! ☺️ I also know that a lot of us are feeling nervous -- as most do when starting on a new journey (myself included). But as you begin to get more familiar with our online platforms, the nerves will diminish and will hopefully be replaced with happiness and joy from interacting with your peers & learning new skills that you will use throughout your lifetime.

As mentioned, we will be using Zoom to communicate daily. You will be required to sign on to Zoom during your period's time. As with normal classes, try to be on time :). I understand during the first few days you may have some technology issues, which is ok! You will need to install the zoom app on your Chromebook before Monday. If you do not know how to do this, I have added a "how to" video under the Digital Tools tab at the top. I will also add the "how to" video to Google Classroom. I will show you all the tips and tricks for using Zoom on day 1. Parents, you are always welcome to be with your son/daughter during zoom sessions.

I am here to make this journey as easy for you as possible. This website will be updated weekly and filled with all the distance learning information that you need. All the links to our Google Classroom, Powerschool, and online learning platforms can be found here. I will help you learn the tools and skills for making online learning fun and efficient! I will be available every day for anything you may have concerns about - that includes the weekends! Above, you will find my office hours and a quick link if you'd like to schedule a virtual meeting with me. In addition, I will still be making calls home to be in touch with you and keep you updated.

I look forward to seeing you on Monday and can't wait to teach you more about our virtual websites & environmental science!
