A Masked Ball

Our main production for 2013 was A Masked Ball by Giuseppe Verdi at the Corn Exchange Devizes Wed 9th, Fri 11th & Sat 12th October at 7.30pm.

Described by one critic as Verdi's greatest opera, A Masked Ball is a gripping tale of forbidden love, black magic, plots of vengeance, wild parties and a royal assassination.

The characters include a pleasure-loving King, a betrayed faithful friend, a wife overwhelmed by guilt at the thought of adultery, a pair of embittered villains, a mysterious fortune-teller and a cheeky page-boy - all brought vividly to life through some of Verdi's most thrilling and emotional music.
