The characters include a pleasure-loving King, a betrayed faithful friend, a wife overwhelmed by guilt at the thought of adultery, a pair of embittered villains, a mysterious fortune-teller and a cheeky page-boy - all brought vividly to life through some of Verdi's most thrilling and emotional music.
