Once you have your first scan, you will need to know how to manipulate the information. These simple toolsets will allow you to move the scan as well as delete extra information.
Load/Unload Scan: Check the box on the left to load or unload a scan. Checked scans will appear over each other. Unchecked scans will disappear, but the information is saved for later use.
Combined/Single Scan: The icon next to the check box is an indication if the scan is a combination of many scans or just a single image. A hexagon with alternating dark and light triangles is a single scan. Overlapping triangles that look like tacos stacked up is a combination of many scan images.
Active Scan: Clicking on the thumbnail of the scan will select it as an active scan, the border will be highlighted in red. When a function or action is executed it will only effect an Active Scan. Press shift to select multiple scans.
Locked Scan: When scans are aligned, a lock will appear on the bottom right corner of the thumbnail. This indicates the the scan is locked. This means the it is locked into its global coordinates and other scans will be reoriented in their relative coordinates, also information cannot be deleted. To turn it on and off there is a lock button on the top row of icons. Double clicking on the thumbnail will also lock and unlock the scan.
Rotate by left clicking and dragging the mouse around the scan.
If it is easier to visualize the axis of rotation. Select Rotation widget and drag the colored rings to rotate.
Translate by clicking the middle mouse button and dragging your mouse. Click down on the mouse wheel, not the same as rotate the mouse wheel. Press it directly downwards and hold as you drag your mouse. It is highly recommended that you use a mouse, this is different for different laptop manufactures.
If it is easier, select the Rotation widget then click and drag the yellow sphere to move the object.
Many times in a scan there is background information that is not needed. To delete, hold the control button and press and hold the left mouse button while dragging the mouse. It will only delete the top layer of information.
To delete all the way through the object select the Select Through button. This will cut a hole through everything
Now that you can manipulate the information let's move on to align multiple scans together
