Planning your workdays in advance will help your Adopt A Plot volunteers know when to show up, and help ensure that tools are available for you.
Please use this rough schedule to plan out a few months in advance.
For plots being established in 2023
April - June 2023: Training and coordination with Adopt-a-Plot group
August/September 2023: site preparation - weeding & clearing plot; marking and signing (12-15 workers, ~3-4 hours)
October 2023: planting (12-15 workers, ~3 hours)
December 2023: winterizing (water as needed) (6-8 workers, ~2 hours)
March 2024: weeding and watering, survival monitoring (6-10 workers, ~3 hours)
May 2024: weeding and watering* (6-10 workers, ~2 hours)
July 2024: watering* (4-5 workers, ~2 hours)
August 2024: watering* (4-5 workers, ~2 hours)
* watering can occur as often as every week-10 days through the hot summer months; depending on the adopting team & volunteers these could be 'smaller' events where, for example, 1/2 of plot gets watered every other week
