Invite Students To Your Classroom

  • To invite students to your class with an email:
  • Click on the People tab in the top of the page.
  • Click on the Add Person icon to the right of the Students section.
  • Type in each student’s email address, or if you have the students already in a group in your email, you can type the name of the contact group.
  • Click Invite.

Communicating In The Classroom Stream

To post an announcement in the Stream:

  • Click on the Stream tab at the top of the page
  • Click on the Share Something With Your Class... link under the main banner.
  • Click the drop down arrow in the first box under the For heading and put a check box next to the class/classes you'd like to create the announcement for.
  • Click the drop down arrow in the second box under the For heading and put a check box next to the students you'd like to create the announcement for.
  • Click in the Share with your class space and type the desired message you'd like to share.
  • Click on the paperclip symbol and choose from Google Drive, Link, File, or YouTube to attach any attachments to your announcement.
  • Click the Post button to post your announcement now, or click the drop down arrow to the right of the button to schedule the post or save it as a draft.

Create And Assign An Assignment

To create an assignment:

  • Click on the Classwork tab at the top of the page.
  • Click on the Create button on the top left hand corner of the page.
  • Choose from Assignment, Quiz Assignment, or Question.
  • Enter the title and any instructions in the Title and Instructions areas.
  • Next to For, click on the down arrow and select the class / classes as well as students you'd like to include.
  • Under the Points heading, click on the drop down arrow to choose how many points the assignment is worth.
  • Under the Due heading, click on the down arrow. Next to No due date, click on the down arrow. Click a date on the calendar.
  • Under the Instructions field, click on the Add icon to add files from your computer, Google Drive files, a YouTube Video, or a webpage link.
  • Under the Instructions field, click on the Create button to create a Google Doc, Slides, Sheets, Drawing, or Forms to include in the assignment.
  • in the top right hand corner of the page, click on the ASSIGN button to assign the assignment now, or click on the down arrow to the right of the button to schedule the assignment or save it as a draft.
