A collection of works by two artists working in their own time over three years. Concurrent, peripheral practices activated when time and desire coalesce. Weaving, ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, collage. Relocation, building, expansion, learning, supporting, birthing. Each material each trace a tool and die, leading to Something Seaming.

Delaney DeMott is an artist/educator whose work highlights the hiccups contributing to one’s lived experience. Originally from Philadelphia, Delaney received her BFA from Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University, and her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is an Assistant Professor in the Fibers and Material Studies Department at Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Delaney DeMott’s work and lecture series has toured institutions such as the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, American University, Concordia University, University of Chicago, Delta College, Indiana University, SUNY Buffalo State, and Beijing Normal University. She is proud to be called a mama to her baby girl and her fur baby boy and a partner in living the good life with Ben.

Benjamin DeMott is an artist/educator and Ceramics Studio Manager at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. Ben enjoys fatherhood, gardening, and gluten while making up songs about their processes. He has exhibited, lectured, and taught at: the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Concordia University Montreal, Central Academy of Fine Arts Beijing China, South China Normal University Guangzhou, Alfred University, Illinois State University Normal, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Colorado Boulder, and California State Long Beach.
