ToK Exhibition 2021
As part of their ToK course, IB students consider how Theory of Knowledge manifests itself in the world around us. To that effect they study three themes:
Knowledge and the Knower which provides an opportunity for students to reflect on themselves as knowers and thinkers, and on the different communities of knowers to which we belong.
Knowledge and Technology which focuses on issues relating to the impact of technology and how it may help or hinder our pursuit of knowledge.
Knowledge and Indigenous Societies which allow students to undertake a more detailed exploration of knowledge that is principally bound to a particular group, culture or society.
Students complete their internal assessment in the first year of their course linked to these themes: the ToK exhibition. They have to choose a prompt (question allowing them to explore ToK concepts) and 3 objects which are specific and reflect an aspect of the world around them. Their task is to link them to the prompt and evaluate how ToK manifests itself through these "real-life" objects.
Because of Covid-restrictions we are unable to host our live exhibition this year but, with this site, we are delighted to share the wonderful and insightful work our LVI IB students have produced for their exhibitions. We hope you enjoy the variety of videos where they have focused on one of their chosen objects in response to their IA prompt. You can click on their individual object collage and it will take you to their video.
