Course Expectations:
Be respectful towards Mr. Bergkamp and your classmates in your speech & actions (Failure to comply with this can result in write up / detention)
Attend class! If you are here, AND you try to complete the work, you will be successful
Stay on task when we do notes (no side conversations)
Participate in and positively contribute to classroom activities/discussions
Abide by all current EHS school policies
Always check Google Classroom to stay updated on class. All assignments and instructions can be found there
Turn in your work on time- Due dates are posted on whiteboard calendar in classroom & Google Classroom (if you don’t stay on top of these it will snowball!)
Ask questions. If there is something you do not understand, ask. That’s what I’m here for.
Notes
Each student must do their own notes. They must write down something for each bullet. You will receive points for doing this, as well as be able to use it on the test or exam for that unit.
You are NOT allowed to copy & paste someone else’s notes, or have a shared doc with someone else that you both print. Failing to comply will result in the following steps: warning, then a write up, then detention
Materials you must have each day:
-Chromebook -Spiral Notebook or paper (if you want to use for your notes and/or bellwork)
-Writing Utensil (Pencil, blue or black pen). If you do not have something to write with or paper to write on, ask me and I will let you borrow one (These should be returned before you leave the room).

Grading Policy
-Grading is on a total point system. The greater the points, the more significant the weight of the assignment. I will use the district grading scale.
-Not all assignments will be for a grade. Some of the work we do builds the skills necessary for success on assignments which will be for a grade. ALL of the work we do should be completed thoughtfully and thoroughly in order to improve individual skills. We may not have a large number of graded assignments each quarter, so practicing skills through daily work is essential.
-If you have questions about assignments or a grade, please ask them at the appropriate time (ie: not in the middle of notes)
Absent Policy:
-It is the responsibility of the student to acquire missed materials during the absence
-Check Mr. Bergkamp’s google classroom page (at the top of the page) to see what the daily assignment was, as well as your homework for that day or days.
-If you know in advance that you are going to be absent, you need to ask for assignments/ homework before leaving
-If you are gone for an unforeseen reason you should email Mr. Bergkamp to get the assignment or notes you missed (these are posted on google classroom at end of day most of the time)
-If you are gone the day an assignment is GIVEN you get an extra day, BUT if you are absent any other day the assignment is still due on the original date. Please stay on top of this and email Mr. Bergkamp if you need an assignment emailed to you
Classroom Breaks:
-Students are expected to obtain permission to leave the classroom while class is in session *Check out using the checkout clipboard by door You will take a hall pass badge on lanyard with you. No cell phone
-Please ask at appropriate times such as beginning of class or after we are done with Notes and you are given time to work on project
Cell Phone/Portable Device: (Not allowed per School rules)
Violation 1: A warning will be issued by the classroom teacher. Added Skyward discipline. Parent Notified.
Violation 2: The student will be required to serve a 1 hour administrative detention.
Violation 3: The student will be required to serve a 2 hour administrative detention.
Violation 4: The student will be required to serve one day in ISS. (In-School Suspension)
*You will now be removed from the finals exempt policy*
*Repeat Violations of this policy may result in Out of School suspension
Late Assignments
-Deadlines are important; therefore, all work must be submitted on time. Please respect this expectation. If there is an issue with an assignment, it is your responsibility to communicate all issues to me before the assignment due date. I get we are in the middle of a world pandemic; communication is key in all things.
-You are expected to keep up with your class grades in order to give you a fairly accurate idea of your current standing and eliminate “surprise” grades on progress reports and/or report cards; but I do update Skyward regularly, so please check that often. I would recommend downloading the Skyward and Google Classroom app for your phone.
