All About Me...

I was born in Miami, Oklahoma. I attended school in Commerce, Oklahoma until 3rd grade. We moved to Parsons, Kansas where I studied until graduation in 1991. I grew up with a father as a business teacher, athletic director, and multiple sport coach. This fostered a love for not only business but also sports. I'm a huge football fan!

After high school, I attended Labette Community College and received Associate Degrees in Business Administration and Accounting. I transferred to Missouri Southern State University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Education in 1996. During college, I worked as an accounting and business law tutor. I also worked on campus in Sports Information at MSSU. This opportunity provided me the ability to expand my knowledge and love of sports while learning so many new aspects of community relations.

After graduating from MSSU, I started my teaching career at Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville, Kansas in 1996. I taught business classes, sponsored student council, and coached cheerleading for three years. I moved a short distance down the highway and had my second teaching and cheerleading coaching stint at Independence High School. In 2001, I had the opportunity to move to the Goddard District to work across the hall from my dad and to teach for my high school principal. I coached cheerleading at GHS until Eisenhower High School opened in 2011. I made a move to the library in 2005. I returned part-time to the business classroom in 2017. I returned to the classroom fulltime in 2022-2023, taking on a half-day teaching gig at Eisenhower Middle School! The 2025-2026 school year will be my 30th year in education. 

In my free time, I cheer for everything Oklahoma Sooners! I count down the days until OU football starts. I have a sweet tuxedo kitty I rescued from the Humane Society named Ellie Mae. I also spend time taking in my niece's powerlifting and weightlifting events.
