Fourth grade is a big year for growing in expectations and learning to advocate for ourselves and others. In our class, we will work on following classroom and school expectations, emotional regulation, understanding our emotions, and the impact it has on our actions.
We all make mistakes! We will always give the students a chance to make better choices before going straight to a consequence.
1. For minor infractions, students may receive a fine in class.
2. Some consequences will require a think sheet. This is done instead of a preferred activity and can be in addition to a fine.
3. On rare occasions, both the student and teachers will make a phone call home.
4. We are not big on taking away recess time. We know students need to give their minds a rest and burn some energy. Usually, we remove preferred activities or free time as a natural consequence. It is rare that any recess time is taken with laps within our class.
5. Our final consequences would be a call home and a visit to Mrs. Ebert’s office. (These last three are rare)
