EHS TENNIS ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT!
Former EHS Tennis Player Terah Graber is an Eisenhower High School graduate in the class of 2020. Terah performed well both, on the court and in the classroom. As an exceptional student, she was accepted to the US Merchant Marine Academy in New York. On the tennis court at Eisenhower, Terah was a three-year varsity player, playing both singles and doubles throughout her career.
Interview with Terah:
1. What are you up to now after high school? (School, work, life, goals?)
Terah: After high school, I got accepted to the US Merchant Marine Academy in New York. I’ll be spending the first of three trimesters sailing around the world! I’m looking forward to all the countries I’ll get to see.
2. Have you found time to play tennis or hit? If not, what do you miss about HS tennis?
Terah: Since there is no women’s tennis team here I decided to join the rowing team. It is a lot of fun and hard work but of course, I still miss tennis. I loved competing and going to practice with all my friends.
3. What is the best piece of advice for future or current EHS tennis players you could give them?
Terah: The best piece of advice that I can give is to remember that you’re only as good as the work you put into getting better. I used to take private lessons a lot and hit with my friends outside of practice during my freshman, sophomore, and junior years of high school. If you’re truly serious about the sport you’ll make time for improvement. If not, then that’s totally okay too! Just play your best and make every practice count.
