Hi! My name is Liz Ewing and I am so excited to be the Library Media Specialist at Challenger! More importantly, I am THRILLED to see your child each week during their library lessons! It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.

I was born and raised in Wichita and attended Goddard Schools – I even went to Challenger at one point! After that, I went to the University of Kansas (go Jayhawks!) where I completed my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and my Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction.
I started my teaching career with Derby Public Schools in a first grade classroom for four years before I moved back to Goddard to teach Kindergarten, which I taught for eight years. I’m so lucky to have so many of my former students again at Challenger! I’m also enjoying meeting students from Earhart, Oak Street, and students who just joined the Goddard district.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Shane Ewing. You can check out his job every morning, as he is the co-anchor for Good Morning Kansas on KAKE news! We have a six-year-old daughter named Brynn, a four-year-old son named Beckett, and a one-year-old daughter, Blaire. They definitely keep us busy, but have completely filled our hearts with love!
