About Mrs. Busby

Hello! My name is Shanda Busby. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Emporia State University, along with an endorsement in English as a Second Language. I also earned my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University.

Throughout my teaching career, I have taught fourth grade for five years and third grade for eight years at Amelia Earhart Elementary School. This is my sixth year teaching sixth-grade social studies at Challenger Intermediate School and my first year teaching sixth-grade math.

I am married to Matt Busby, the assistant principal at Goddard Middle School. We have a six-year-old daughter named Karlee and are expecting another little girl, due August 21. Our family also includes our dog, Max.

Teaching is an incredibly rewarding profession. I believe today’s students are tomorrow’s future, and it is a teacher’s responsibility to help prepare them to become respectful, educated, and responsible members of society. When my students grow, learn, and succeed, I feel that I have succeeded as their teacher.
