INDUCTION & MENTORING MATTERS TERMINAL

This page is designed to provide resources for our Induction Phase Teachers, or IPTs,  with zero to three years of teaching experience. Induction Phase Teachers are also identified as teachers new to the profession, school district, or subject area. The district induction program will be tiered to provide differentiated support based on the individual’s needs.

Overview of Support Offered in VCS, Induction Designees, & Induction Support Leaders

The Governor’s School Leadership Academy (GSLA) provides high-quality, selective, statewide leadership preparation and support designed to develop high-capacity school leaders across Georgia. 

Leader Academies:

♦ The District Sustainability Program - serving school districts who assemble a diverse team of central office and school-based leaders to engage in a year-long iterative planning process that supports the development and or refinement of their leadership development programs.

♦ The Principal Support Program - serving principals who are currently leading a federally designated (CSI, TSI, Promise, or SIG) school. GSLA Coaches are assisting sitting principals in managing the change process to achieve transformational school-level improvement.

♦ The Aspiring Principal Program - serving educators who serve in Georgia school districts with at least one federally identified school, have 3 or more years of effective practice, and have an expressed desire to become a principal.

♦ The Teacher Leader Support Program - serving teachers with 5 or more years of experience who are interested in exploring leadership roles inside and outside of the classroom.
