Mission and Beliefs

The Sallas Mahone Elementary School Comprehensive School Counseling Program will provide all students with the opportunity to enhance academic development, explore career interests, and foster social/emotional skills.

The School Counselors believe:

• All students Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade shall have access to a full-time, state-certified, master’s degree-level school counselor.

• All students can achieve when provided a supportive and caring environment.

• School counselors advocate for all students.

• All students shall have equitable access and opportunity to participate in a comprehensive school counseling program.

• Respect, tolerance, and diversity shall be integrated throughout a comprehensive school counseling program.

• Collaboration among parents, educators, and the community is vital for the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students.
