WHAT IS  P.B.I.S. & R.O.A.R.?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce disciplinary incidents, increase a school's sense of safety and support improved academic outcomes.
At J.L.L. the overall expectation of positive behavior is R.O.A.R.  We expect our scholars to be Responsible, On Task, Aware of Self and Others, Respectful. We believe that when we teach our scholars the behaviors that go along with our school culture and provide them with as much positive feedback as possible, it reduces unnecessary discipline issues and promotes a climate of safety, which is necessary for learning and growing!

J.L. Lomax Elementary School will:
  1. Teach and acknowledge positive school behavior.
  2. Create a predictable and consistent language, interventions and consequences.
  3. Promote a positive, safe school climate.
  4. Develop responsible and respectful students.
