8:45-9:00 Tiger Way Lesson

9:00-9:20 Sound Boards and Phonics Routine

9:20-9:50 Reading Groups

9:50-10:00- Movement Break

10:00-11:10- Math (whole group instruction, partner practice, independent practice)

11:10-11:15 Clean Up for Lunch

11:15- 12:10 Lunch and Recess

12:10-12:20 Handwriting

12:20-1:00 Reading Groups

1:00-1:30 Reading (whole group instruction)

1:30-2:10 Specials (PE, Music, Technology)

2:10-2:20 Snack

2:20- 2:40 Small Group Math Instruction

2:40-3:00 Science/Social Studies Lessons

3:00-3:20 Writing

3:20-3:30 Clean Up and Pack Up

ELA- During ELA we work on spelling, grammar, writing, reading, comprehension, vocabulary and a variety of skills and strategies that help with reading.

Math- During math we work on rounding, subtracting and adding 2 digit numbers, multiplication, geometry, money, time and measuring. 

Science- We do five STEM units. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. The units we will do in second grade are properties of matter, the changing earth, grids and games, living things: diversity of life and form and function.  

Social Studies- We learn about communities, oceans and continents and about the town of Gobles.
