4th-6th grade students come to the library every week. They check out books, listen to stories, participate in library lessons and different activities.
How many books can I check out? Each student may have two books out at one time. If a book is overdue however, no books may be checked out until that book is returned.
Student check-outs are for 2 weeks. They are allowed to recheck a book if they need more time to finish it. Students will receive and overdue notice in their classroom for all materials that are checked out for longer than 2 weeks. We do not charge fines for overdue books, but if books are lost, the student is expected to pay for the lost book.
Mistakes happen and we totally understand; however, patrons are responsible for the fine associated with a lost or damaged (beyond repair) book. We no longer charge late fines in grades K-6.
A Readerspace is a location in the Media Center where students can retell the books they are reading by creating a "reader's response" to the book using technology, drawing, or creating for a small prize.
Our project space is specifically for students that need to begin or finish a project that was assigned in class. We realize that sometimes time gets away and we want all students to be successful and therefore we are offering this space as an as needed resource.
