We believe that technology and interactive media are powerful learning tools when used in intentional and developmentally appropriate ways. We strategically and thoughtfully plan the use of high-quality tools and content to foster curiosity, communication, and collaboration. We focus on ensuring active engagement in the use of technology in order to enrich play, support connections, and enable deep, cognitive processing. ELC learners are creators of multimodal digital content. They use technology to extend their investigations, test theories, and explore the world. Digital Citizenship is crucial. Adults in our children’s lives are mentors who model, facilitate, and scaffold healthy media use.
Our young learners have access to a small number of iPads per classroom. These are used intentionally and in a balanced manner, only when they enhance the learning experience or provide a way for students to express themselves that would not be possible otherwise.
Sarah works with students and teachers in ELC and Elementary sections of the school. In ELC she works with teachers to plan and implement intentional technology integration. She also supports teachers in the classroom, working with students when introducing new tools and Maker Education tasks.
Please bookmark your child's respective grade level page to access information about the day-to-day running of the ELC, as well as content generated by the grade-level leaders. The sites are also a starting point for the orientation of new and returning families.
Seesaw is where you can access your child’s learning journal. This can be a starting point in your conversations with your child about their learning.
Through this app, parents will receive announcements from the curriculum team, principals and grade-level teacher with important pieces of information, announcements, reminders, etc.
Here is an overview of the Seesaw app updated in 2022, now serving Families, Students and Teachers.
