Hold a certificate or license obtained through a professional or technical examination in accordance with the “Examination Act for Professional and Technical Personnel” (e.g., physician, lawyer).
Hold a master's degree or above from a domestic or foreign university in a relevant field, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field along with at least two years of relevant work experience.
Have worked for a multinational enterprise for at least one year and been assigned to work in Taiwan.
Have no formal academic qualifications but possess more than five years of work experience and demonstrate innovation or exceptional performance.
In addition, unless otherwise specified, the foreign national’s average monthly salary must be at least NT$47,971.
Note: The Ministry has established a consultation mechanism to exempt the 5-year work experience requirement for foreign nationals engaging in specialized or technical work. Individuals approved as innovative startup talents may be exempted from the work experience requirement upon special approval.
If overseas Chinese or international graduates meet the above criteria, employers may submit applications on their behalf. Once approved, they may stay in Taiwan for employment.
