The International Symposium on Peripheral Nerve Regeneration (ISPNR) has emerged as a leading forum for scientists and clinicians dedicated to restoring nerve function and improving patient outcomes. Over the years, this symposium, organized by the European Society for the Study of Peripheral Nerve Repair & Regeneration (ESPNR), has evolved from a specialized meeting into a global platform where innovative ideas are translated into novel technologies and therapies that shape the future of nerve repair.
This 8th edition, held in Granada in June 2026, will focus on the next generation of strategies for peripheral nerve repair and regeneration (clinical and surgical studies, biofabrication techniques, novel scaffolds & biomaterials, cellular-based therapies, and cellular & molecular processes involved in nerve regeneration). By bringing together multidisciplinary researchers & specialized clinicians, this meeting aims to accelerate translation and address key challenges in the field.
Regarding the location, Granada is a historic and culturally vibrant city in southern Spain, renowned for its unique blend of Moorish and European heritage. Set at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it is home to the Alhambra, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic monuments in Europe. The host institution of the 8th ISPNR, the University of Granada (UGR), founded in 1531, is one of Spain’s oldest universities and among the most prestigious institutions of higher education in the country. Renowned for its strong international profile, UGR sustains a large and diverse academic community conducting multidisciplinary research, with particular strengths in the health sciences, biotechnology, engineering, and the humanities.
Finally, we would like to extend a warm and enthusiastic invitation for you to join us in Granada and become part of an exceptional scientific symposium. Your participation will contribute to shaping future research directions and emerging trends in the field of peripheral nerve repair and regeneration.
We look forward to seeing you in Granada.

Faculty of Medicine, University of Granada, Spain
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada is one of Spain’s historic medical schools, rooted in the early foundation of the University, initiated by Emperor Charles I in 1526 and consolidated by Pope Clement VII’s bull in 1531, with the first rector appointed in 1532, when Granada’s university was organized around three faculties: Law, Theology, and Medicine. Today, the Faculty is located on the University’s Health Sciences Campus (Parque Tecnológico de Ciencias de la Salud (PTS)), where it integrates teaching, research, and clinical collaboration. This faculty hosts approximately 1,600 students across health science disciplines, an academic environment that makes it an ideal host for the 8th ISPNR.
