Overview

In order to further enhance financial support for doctoral students this academic year, our university has introduced the “J-PEAKS Pre-Doctoral Fellowship” program. This program provides support to students enrolled in the doctoral program (doctoral courses) who demonstrate a strong willingness to contribute to the “Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities with Regional Core and Distinctive Characteristics (J-PEAKS),” to which our university was selected in fiscal year 2023.

Support Details (for First-Year Doctoral Students)

J-PEAKS Advanced Fellow : Provides 1,000,000 yen in research incentive funding to students aiming to be selected for programs such as FL-SPRING* and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC).

J-PEAKS Rising Fellow : Employs highly motivated doctoral (late-stage) students as Research Assistants (RAs), providing up to 600,000 yen per year, for those aiming to be selected for programs such as FL-SPRING* and the JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC).

※For FY2027 and beyond, the Next Generation Researcher Challenging Research Program (SPRING), for which supporting universities are currently under open call and review by JST, has not yet been finalized. Therefore, it is undecided at this time whether our university will conduct a new call for applications.
