Spelling Notebooks

Here is some important information about your child’s notebook:

• Spelling notebooks will go home on Fridays and are due back the following Friday. 

• Every week, students will receive a new choice board in their notebooks. 

• Students will be responsible to complete 3 activities per week from the choice board that is stapled into their notebook. 

• Please work with your child to reinforce the Fundations concepts by using the activities on the choice board.

• Each choice board will include sample words that align with our Fundations Level 2 curriculum. 

• There will be an assessment given every Friday. The sample words given do not need to be memorized for this test. We will be testing the skills taught in the unit and words will be picked at random for the assessment.

Homework reinforces the skills we are learning during the school day and should only take between 30-45 minutes each night. If for some reason your child is struggling with their homework or it is taking longer than that, just send me a text on Remind and let me know. Homework should never be a stressful experience at home. 

**If your child forgets his/her homework at school OR if your child is absent and you would like them to make up the work, you can print the worksheets directly from this page**

REMINDERS: Read and respond to your child's letter to you in their "Letters Home" spiral notebook and send back to school on Monday. Also, please sign test logs and return black "Friday Folders" on Mondays (tests can stay at home, just leave the test log in the folder).
